On September 1, 2025, Mark Kurtser, an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the CEO of MD Medical Group IPJSC (“MD Medical”, “Mother and Child”, "Group" or the "Company"), and the rector of the medical university MGIMO-MED owned by the Group, handed over student IDs to first-year students.

In 2022, the first intake of students at the medical university MGIMO-MED took place. Since the beginning of our university's operation, the number of first-year students has been increasing every year. According to the concept of education that provides for the most individual approach, the number of students per course is limited. And the new stream of students ensures maximum course load. As the educational process develops, we annually update the university's educational and technical equipment with modern aids and simulators, and expand the range of our clinical bases, which include, in addition to the hospitals of the Mother and Child Group, leading medical and scientific institutions in Moscow and the Moscow Region.

In the new academic year, MGIMO-MED has made another important achievement: the expansion of specializations for residents. In addition to the existing specializations of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Therapy, Oncology, and Surgery, the specialty of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care has been added. This is an important step in the face of a shortage of medical professionals, when healthcare facilities across the country are in dire need of new specialists. According to the experience, after completing their residency, MGIMO-MED graduates continue to work in hospitals and clinics of the Mother and Child Group in various regions of Russia. In the new academic year, 33 graduates of medical universities were enrolled in residency, and a total of 64 MGIMO-MED residents are currently studying at the Group’s hospitals.
