MD Medical Group acquires Ilyinskaya Hospital
MD Medical Group IPJSC ((“MD Medical”, “MDMG”, "Group" or the "Company"; MOEX: MDMG), a leading Russian private healthcare provider, announces the acquisition of Ilyinskaya Hospital – a major multifunctional outpatient and inpatient centre in the Moscow Region.
Ilyinskaya Hospital is a multidisciplinary facility with a total area of 14,088 sq m, opened in 2019 and located in a densely populated area of the Moscow Region, close to the Novorizhskoye and Ilyinskoye highways. The transaction gives the Company ownership of the hospital building in an upscale area of the Moscow Region, which comes fully fitted with advanced medical equipment, together with a 1.44-hectare site for potential future expansion. The purchase price is comparable to the cost of building a new hospital of a similar scale, yet the Group acquires an operational facility with an established patient base and a qualified medical team.
The acquisition price is RUB 8.5 billion, including RUB 1.1 billion of debt on the acquired asset's balance sheet. Payment will be made using a combination of the Company’s own and borrowed funds. The transaction has been approved by the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service and is currently being registered.

Transaction rationale
The acquisition is a strategic move to strengthen MD Medical Group’s position in the Moscow market and to expand its inpatient care offering – both key revenue growth drivers. The multidisciplinary medical focus of Ilyinskaya Hospital will substantially boost the Group’s share of this segment, while surgical and oncology synergies will raise the bar for inpatient care in Moscow.
Under the terms of the transaction, Ilyinskaya Hospital will continue to operate under its historic brand, maintaining its current standards of care while strengthening its workforce through the integration of leading specialists and adoption of modern, centralised medical management processes.

With Ilyinskaya Hospital – which comes fully equipped, with qualified staff and an established patient base – we acquire a major asset that is up and running today, saving on the time and cost of building and ramping up a new one, all at a price roughly the same as building a new hospital.”
